The baseball is merely one part of the action, but first let’s settle the North Side versus South Side issue.  When you are in Chicago you need to know that the Cubs are located on the NORTH side of the city at Wrigley Field.  This doesn’t mean Cubs fans have to reside on the North Side but it is great local knowledge to bring with you on your trip.  The Chicago White Sox play in Comiskey Park, or at least that was the original name.  The new stadium is called Guarantee Rate Field.

  • Art Institute of Chicago

  • The Millennium Park

There are two reasons why the park made our list. The first is the 100 ton round, mirror-like, stainless steel surface that was inspired by liquid mercury. The ball clearly reflects the nearby surroundings. The second reason is Crown Fountain. The fountain is a modern day interpretation of the ancient gargoyle that looks like water is flowing from the mouths of the supposed Chicago citizens.

  • Navy Pier

The Navy Pier opened in 1916 and back then it was as boring as every other pier. Now, the pier consists of 50 acres of pure enjoyment. The place has gardens, shops, concert venues, shops and a 3D Imax Theatre. There’s also a 150 feet Ferris Wheel to make the pier a pier. There’s also a Chicago Festival in August and that is when people tend to schedule their trips to the city. Navy Pier is an outstanding place to simply hang around with friends and loved ones and enjoy the atmosphere and culture of Chicago.  Perfect place to spend an afternoon during a trip or for locals to get outside and enjoy themselves.
