This game marks the debut of rookie NY Giants quarterback Daniel Jones. Jones was selected early in the 1st round of the NFL Draft 2019 in an obvious move to eventually replace the aging two time Super Bowl winner Eli Manning. Earlier in the week NY Giants Head Coach Shurmur announced that Danial Jones is now the starter.
There may be drama surrounding this because of the two Super Bowl wins for Eli Manning, but all Giants fans knew this day would come. The team is performing very poorly right now so why not shake it up and build for the future. What is the future of Eli Manning? The Jacksonville Jaguars, New Orleans Saints, and Pittsburgh Steelers are all being chatted about as potential landing spots for benched QB Eli Manning. This all hinges on if no trade clauses are enacted and other mumbo jumbo, but there could in theory be an Eli Manning trade.

The Giants have not been competitive really. The Dallas Cowboys blasted them right off the football field in Week 1 and moved the ball up and down the gridiron at will like they were going through swiss cheese. The Bills then came into MetLife and basically dominated the NY Giants. Daniel Jones however, granted it was the preseason, has looked pretty damn good. He shows swiftness and good decision making. A rookie QB in their first ever game is always a risky bet, and Daniel Jones has had some issues with ball security and fumbling. Who knows though, Jones may surprise a lot of people and play very well here right away.
The Bucs meanwhile are at 1-1 and got the win in a rain soaked Thursday night snoozer of a game that had its moments but was mostly mundane. QB Jameis Winston did enough to get the win and remains partially on track to rebound this season. The Bucs took advantage of a beaten up Panthers QB Cam Newton and got that desperate win to avoid the 0-2 hole. One key here for sure is that the Bucs are nice and rested and at home since they last played last Thursday night.

The Bucs are 1-1 and Winston played decently in the Thursday Night game, but these stats overall won’t get them very far in the pass happy NFL of the current era. As seen above, Winston has just 363 yards passing and three interceptions to go with the two TD passes.
Dave Blezow, an expert from the NY Post, predicts that the Giants will win and cover in his predictions for the Giants versus Bucs in Week 3 of the 2019 NFL. This is the first start of the career for QB Danial Jones.
The Bucs Defensive Coordinator is Todd Bowles, former Head Coach of the NY Jets. Bowles has a long and successful career in the NFL. You can be assured he does not want a rookie QB in the NFL to come in and have a good game against his team the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bowles will look to build on the lockdown defense the Bucs showed against the Carolina Panthers.
