The Saratoga performing arts center recently held two special concerts. The first was a Reggae concert and the second was a concert celebrating the Reggae Ensemble. The concerts were the first of many concerts the Saratoga performing arts center will host this summer. There are many concerts planned in the future.
The orchestra at the Saratoga performing arts center are not only fine artists in their own right, but members of the Asian Chamber Music Association, a group of professional musicians in which Saratoga is the only college located in New York State. As a company, they recently won a distinction of becoming the first orchestra to perform at Carnegie Hall. So, the team’s talent is good. The orchestra’s professionalism and their work ethic are what makes the concerts so exciting.
The Reggae Concert was a spectacular show. The orchestra made a top notch recording of the music and it was exciting to see how well the performers matched the music. The other exciting part of the concert was the audience. The audience was as diverse as the performers. The audience was diverse of a variety of musical tastes, ranging from reggae, to punk, to folk music, to R&B.
The orchestra’s performance of the orchestra’s most important piece, a masterpiece called “Ashes of Rain”, was a breathtaking and moving event. As per usual for the Saratoga performing arts center, the singers and musicians had a wonderful show. Their vibrant vocal voices are truly exceptional. The orchestra’s performances of various classical pieces like “Ode to Joy”Ode to Joy”, had powerful drum fills, excellent soloists, and even a great violin solo.
After the orchestra ended the concert, the audience was rewarded with some exciting live music. TheNew York Philharmonic Jazz Band has a wonderful mixture of jazz and European music. The band’s brilliant guitarist, Charles Todd, showed off his superior technique as he displayed his own skill at playing the trumpet, bass, and piano.
The jazz band performed a number of wonderful pieces like “Master Sleep”The Flea”. The audience was taken back by the performance of these wonderful songs. But it was the second half of the concert, when the musicians performed a selection of classical music, that had them in an uproar. The audience was electrified with a performance of “Ode to Joy”, conducted by Lang Lang, that had beautiful soloists and a wonderful orchestra.
The jazz band showed off their tremendous musical talent in a number of other pieces. The band’s conductor, Lang Lang, was a great asset to the Saratoga performing arts center.
