4/1 ml. Recency, breeding, trainer.
Looking at the options for firsters left me feeling there may not be all that much talent there so landed on a young gal with one spin under her belt. Replay shows she had some trouble early and late in that race breaking from the fence so could have been a useful learning experience. Dam ran a 91 in a turf route and the sibs have high figs of 88 dirt sprint and 85 turf route with an overall record of 6/21. Doesn’t need to be a monster to beat this crew.
Race 4

9/5 ml. Pattern, speed, pace.
Crappy race with a skimpy five horse field. This lady is 2nd off the pine for Brown going turf/dirt (38% move) for first start on dirt as a 4YO. Any improvement from where she was last year makes her very tough here. Tiny field and low price.
Race 5

10/1 ml. Breeding, trainer, surface.
Very wide open turf sprint for 2YO gals taking a stab with this firster in a race filled with firsters. Works look fairly solid for a trainer that is 13% with 2YO and 19% in turf sprints. Sibs are a sharp 16/53 overall with a high fig on turf of 89 in a route and a 71 in a dirt sprint. Dam was 3/5 sprinting on dirt and ran a 93 in a turf route.

Topsy, turvy inconsistent group here 50K claimers going a mile on the weeds I landed on a horse going two turns for the first time. Off the bench last out washed off the green got a nice win and has a win on synthetic. 2nd spin as a 3YO for a trainer that is 38% 2nd off the pine, 23% on turf, and 20% going sprint/route. The others are what they are maybe this horse has upside. Wire to wire?

4/1. Speed, recency, pace.
Need to trust the trainer here on the stretching out to 9F but the horse has four spins under his belt so it’s not like he doesn’t have any fitness or buildup to this. On figs should be able to be right there and get the jump on the field and have a good shot if he handles the distance. Trainer is 19% off a 31-60 day break and has been building up from 6F to 6.5F and then the 7F in his last which was his best race.
Race 8

9/2 ml. Recency, pace, pattern.
Real scrambled eggs here going 11F on the green I’m rolling with a fella that should be right on the pace with no excuses. Improved last out stretching out and now goes further today.
Race 9
3
20/1. Recency, pace, pattern.
There is a lot of pace in here but not convinced this guy HAS to be on the lead as he could sit a little off it. Popped a 99 last out going 6F showing major improvement in his first start as a 4YO and now goes up in class for trainer 38% 2nd off the bench. Basically just looking for him to get out there in a good position and sprint home trying to hold on late. A few of these look like they are heading the wrong way. If this guy fires around that 99 he should have a good shot here.
Race 10
10
8/1. Distance, stamina, pattern.
This field is very modest at best. This 10 horse is not any good and is 0/11 lifetime . . . . . . but he tends to keep trying and can handle this distance. With the class drop if he can’t hit the board here or win he may never win.
Good luck at Saratoga Race Course!
