Gilbert Arenas No Chill TV Show

NBA fans, have you noticed how NBA players are being trolled on social media? We all know that it’s part of the game, but it still makes me crazy. During one NBA playoff game against the Indiana Pacers, guard Lance Stephenson was upset with the news and came up with these Tweets before the game. If he had the ability to speak on-air, he would have Tweeted something like “I’ve got the keys now, I’m locked and loaded!” But apparently he didn’t have the skills to do that.

In one instance, a former basketball star named Gilbert Arenas came onto the podcast. During the interview, he mentioned another rapper whom he referred to as “Baby” because he was upset at the time that he lost a basketball match to him, but didn’t actually say anything negative about the player. It was later revealed that Arenas was referring to former Washington Wizard rookie sensation Andre Miller. On the podcast, Arenas called Miller “Baby” again and even called him a dirty player. The reaction from many of the members of the Washingtons assembled was amazing.

Not long after the podcast went on the internet, former NBA star turned wrestling announcer, Michael J. Fox, chimed in on the Gilberts’ YouTube channel and called Arenas out for his comments about Baby. So once again, we have another example of athletes using their fame and their considerable muscle mass to get someone else in trouble.

After the podcast, the Washington Wizards issued a statement saying that Arenas was not making any kind of statement about the team or the organization. Instead, they said that he was expressing his frustration with not being able to bounce back from a loss to the Dallas Mavericks. He was given a chance to discuss the comments on the YouTube channel, but he did not return for a second comment. The entire situation has had many fans weigh in on what should have been said by Arenas.

In my opinion, it’s pretty easy to see how Arenas got himself into all this trouble in the first place. He’s a bad personality who is known for throwing a shade on opposing players, coaches, and even his own coach. In a world where social media exists and anyone with a microphone can put a message out, Arenas crossed the line. He used his celebrity status and the microphone that were available to him to do harm.

Even though I don’t think he did anything intentionally, I will have to admit that Arenas screwed up in this situation. He is someone who has a hard time controlling his emotions, and I believe that his outburst this week was the result of his frustration after missing the win over the Dallas Mavericks. Hopefully, he will learn his lesson and stop using the microphone as a weapon in his next public arena.
