Fantasy Football Value Gem: Week 6

Fantasy Football Value Gem: Our Value Gem in Week 5 was ok with 4 catches for 51 yards.  We likely underestimated his injury.   Let’s get back on track with something that produces 18+ points this week.

On we go to Week 6. The intent here is to find a low cost but productive option to round out a roster in a DFS contest.  Of course anyone can select the obvious choices if one wishes to pay those high salaries, but unfortunately one can’t fill an entire roster with the top salaries at every position.

Let’s take a look at the Pittsburgh Steelers this week and their trip to Miami to play the Miami Dolphins. Miami ranks 5th in the NFL in terms of the most yards given up per game and they give up 23 first downs/game.  Pittsburgh as everyone knows has a very explosive offense, but that offense is also very balanced.

The Week 6 Fantasy Football Value Gem play for Week 6 at is WR Sammie Coates of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Sammie Coates

Cost: $4,700

6’2”, 201 lbs.

2nd Season

Season Stats: 19 catches, 421 yards, 2 touchdowns

This is an opportunity to get an explosive player that has emerged as a very viable big play threat for the Steelers that can also benefit from teams getting overly concerned about Antonio Brown and L’Eveon Bell. The cost is very reasonable at $4,700.  We look for the Steelers to continue to roll on offense this week down in Miami and most importantly to continue to spread around the football.  Coates likely won’t get a crazy number of targets but he should get enough to make some big plays.

Let’s take a stab with Sammie Coates this week at just $4,700 so we can spend more on other roster spots.  Good luck and enjoy the games!
