It’s not much of a party without snacks and drinks, so make sure you stock a cooler or two before you set sail. There are plenty of good snacks or appetizers to serve on a boat, like fresh vegetables or handheld options. It’s a good idea to avoid too many salty snacks because these can be dehydrating.
Speaking of, you should bring enough water for everybody. Depending on how long you plan to be out, a safe amount would be at least a gallon of water per person. It may seem excessive, but you can never have too much water out on a boat.
Engaging Entertainment
Things quickly turn boring if you don’t have anything to do out on the boat. Entertainment can range from games to fishing equipment. If it’s a party, you usually want to have music, so preparing some speakers and an awesome party boat playlist is a must. Having a range of activities allows everyone to have fun, even if the available entertainment isn’t including everyone on board.

One thing you definitely need to bring for your next boat party is a supply of water safety devices. While most boats already have life vests and floatation devices, you should still double-check and make sure you have them before you set sail. Since you’re out on the water, it’s also a good idea to pack some towels, even if you don’t anticipate anybody going swimming. This stuff can prevent an accident from ruining the party.
First Aid and Communication
Another thing to check for before setting sail is a well-stocked first aid kit and proper communication devices. While most people have cell phones, a boat should also have a radio in case you wind up somewhere without cell service. Your first aid kit should include bandages, antiseptic, ointments, and some sunscreen to protect against the sun. Ideally, you won’t run into any issues out on the water, but if you do, you should be prepared for them.
