Guard Derrick White has signed a four-year, $72 million contract extension with the San Antonio Spurs, his agent Mike Lindeman of Excel Sports told ESPN on Monday.
White, another in the Spurs’ history of player development stories, averaged 11.3 points in 2019-2020.
He was the 29th pick in the 2017 NBA draft and spent most of his rookie season with the Spurs’ G-League affiliate.
White, 26, had no scholarship offers out of high school, and played small-college basketball before transferring to the University of Colorado.
The White deal beat the league’s 6 p.m. ET deadline on Monday for rookie extension contracts.
