U.S. star gymnastSimone Biles is set to return to the all-girls artistic gymnastics competition at the Tokyo Olympics, following multiple previous withdrawals. Biles has been a strong competitor in the men’s and women’s division of gymnastics for several years now. She was second last year behind eventual gold medalist Gabby Douglas in the all-around competition. Biles said that this is definitely one of her toughest weeks of training ahead of the games. This will be Biles’ first win in an Olympic game. Here’s how the young American star will do it.
– Balance beam: Biles worked on her double beam routines all through the season. However, she felt a little rusty prior to the Tokyo Olympics. This will be Biles’ first time competing in her first Olympic game. This will also be her first win since her spectacular performance at the London Olympics last August.
– Floor Exercise: Just like the balance beam final, simone biles is going to have to work on her floor exercises. This was one of the things that suffered as a result of the withdrawals. However, with a little hard work, biles should be able to pull it off. On her final routine, biles said she had to really push herself as she did not know what she was doing. She did, however, enjoy the fact that she finally won a gold medal.
– Floor Exercise: While many expected simone biles to dominate the all-around competition at the Tokyo Olympics, particularly with her stellar floor performance, some were surprised with how well she did. In the balance beam final, Giles was able to use both arms and legs to finish first. This was a marked contrast to the all-around stage where she struggled. It seems that simone has improved as a gymnast, but she will need more help to perform at the 2021 world championships. For now though, this gives us an idea of what we can expect form Simone biles in her first Olympic games.
– Balance Beam Final: Though simone started off the competition on the uneven bars, this was not her choice for the balance beam final. Though she performed admirably on the uneven bars, it was just not enough to help secure a medal. The fact that she did manage to get over the bar and then do the perfect dive to win the gold was a great boost for simone’s confidence.
– vault: This was a tough one for simone, as this was the only competition spot that did not go according to plan. However, with an hour to spare, she pulled through and earned a respectable silver. Though the judges gave her credit for her efforts, many were not surprised with how well she performed. Though she did not do anything spectacular, it is something that could definitely be used in the future. We also saw that she was a lot more comfortable doing the tuck to vault finish than she had been in the recent past.
– Floor Exercise: Though Simone needed a triple toe raise to win the floor exercise final, she earned the bronze with ease. There was no mistaking that she put up a very strong fight to win the floor exercise competition. She set a new personal record in the process and has shown no signs of slowing down anytime soon. This is great news for tokyo and all the gymnasts who have worked hard to get to where they are today.
– beam and tuck: Though beam and tuck did not win the team final last Tuesday, there is no reason why they should not return to the big dance next year. They both have a huge following and have been around since the early 1980’s. Though it may take a few more years for them to earn back the gold medal, they are definitely worth watching. After all, both are a form of floor exercise and both are incredibly fun to watch.
