NBA play-in scenarios: Latest updates on Blazers, Suns, Grizzlieson August 13, 2020 at 12:44 pm

The final spot in the Western Conference playoffs will come down to a weekend play-in scenario in which the No. 9 seed will have to win two games against the No. 8 seed — Saturday at 2:30 p.m. ET on ABC and, if necessary, Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET on ABC — to make the postseason and set up a first-round meeting with the No. 1-seeded Los Angeles Lakers. The No. 8 seed will need to win only once to advance.

Those matchups are still up in the air. The Memphis Grizzlies have officially clinched a spot in the play-in, while the San Antonio Spurs have been eliminated. Now the Phoenix Suns are left waiting to see what happens with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Here are the updated scenarios.

Note: Win percentage, not overall record, will be used to determine seeding.
