The Grady Gammage Memorial Auditorium serves as the college’s home ground for performing arts and theatre. It is also known as the Temperettes Center. This large auditorium seats several thousand people when the weather is good and/or it’s a baseball game. For many years, the venue has been the venue for some of the most important cultural events on the Phoenix and Tempe area.
In addition to hosting huge events like rock concerts and national conventions, the Tempe Gammage Auditorium is also the home of the Arizona State University Homecoming Exposition. If you are planning to attend any of these events this summer, it is critical to schedule your tickets early. These sales-priced tickets are limited and getting them in time could make or break your chance to be at the biggest event of the year. These huge sales will go on until the early spring.
So what can you expect at the Tempe Gammage Auditorium, if you are someone who loves to be a part of these huge events? The first and foremost, you will find that there is a lot of different kinds of shows to choose from. For example, you can get to attend a classical program that features choirs and musicians from all over Arizona and other places in the United States. If you want something a little bit more original, there are also jazz and gospel programs. And if you want something a bit racy, then you might want to consider a punk or a rock show.
One of the most exciting things about Tempe is the Kiwanis Park. This historical park is a great place to take a stroll around and enjoy the scenery. And for those who want to get closer to nature, the town lake has walking paths and dog parks. There is also a nature center where you can learn more about the ecology of the area. However, the best part of the park is the grandstand that holds hundreds of feet of views of the Tempe and surrounding towns. During the summer months, this venue becomes a great place for family concerts and outdoor barbecues.
If music is your thing, then the Tempe Arizona State University has an excellent music department. Students in the department have the opportunity to learn classical guitar, opera, jazz, blues, folk, pop and other music styles. During the spring semester, they will perform a four-part drama called “The Great Big World.” In addition to the drama, students will learn to master pedal boats, kayaks, canoes and more.
Although Tempe is known for its outdoor activities, the town offers a few places to stay that offer more on the indoors. The W.P. Carey Bank Museum of Art has an art gallery where you can view paintings from all over the world. There is also a theater where you can see local movies, concerts and operas. For the younger crowd, there is a theater dedicated to the arts called the Tempe Theatre that includes a running series of musicals and comedy plays.
If you are interested in culture, then you will enjoy the Tempe Arts Council which is one of the most popular nonprofit organizations in the Phoenix area. They sponsor events such as the Tempe Artists Festival and Papago Park Restaurant Week. Both of these events focus on the arts while providing entertainment for visitors.
Tempe is a great city that offers a little bit of everything. Visitors of all ages will be drawn to the town lake and its surrounding communities. The Tempe Arizona State University has programs that include a minor in Communication Arts and Sciences which provides classes for individuals who wish to pursue a degree in the field of communications. Check out this beautiful university town that has so much to offer everyone!
