Of course anyone can select the obvious choices if one wishes to pay those high salaries, but unfortunately one can’t fill an entire roster with the top salaries at every position.
Let’s take a look at the San Diego Chargers and their options in responding to the loss of WR Keenan Allen. The Chargers face the Jacksonville Jaguars at home this season who come in off a tough 27-23 loss to the Green Bay Packers. The Jags gave up 294 of total yards, 7/14 on third down conversions, and two passing TDs to Aaron Rogers. The Chargers return home after giving up a huge lead to the Kansas City Chiefs in a game where they had 36 pass attempts. There is a good chance that this game sees a fair amount of offense overall and pass attempts by the San Diego Chargers.

Tyrell Williams has limited experience and productivity there is no doubt about that. However, the horrible injury to Keenan Allen is a huge opportunity for him. He has size and can be a big target. He was productive last week jumping in after the Allen injury and he was targeted five times. Five targets goes beyond just being a fluke. On Wednesday QB Philip Rivers specifically mentioned Tyrell Williams as someone that he will look to for big plays and production.
