Fantasy Football Value Gem: Week 14

Fantasy Football Value Gem:  We are moving on to Week 14.  Our published Value Gem selection in Week 13 was solid in Kenneth Dixon as he got 11.70 points for just $3,700.   We’ve ranged from 10ish points to as high as 25+ points with these very high value but low cost options.

This week we dive into the matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New Orleans Saints searching for a true low cost value gem.  The Saints lost TE Josh Hill to a season ending injury.  The total for this matchup is currently 51.0 which implies a high scoring affair is very possible. 

The Bucs rank 15^th in the NFL in passing yards allowed and 19^th in total points allowed.  The Buccaneers also rank 15^th in the NFL in Opponents Scoring Efficiency Percentage.  This Bucs defense is not horrendous by any means but it is also unlikely to completely shut down Drew Brees and the explosive Saints offense.  Outdoors in Florida should not be a hurdle for the Saints either.

Fleener has been inconsistent gradually working into an expanded role with the Saints.  Earlier in the year he had a game with 7 catches for 109 yards and a TD.  The reality is now he is the man with the inury to Josh Hill.  In the last three games Fleener’s production has picked up where he racked up 3, 4, and 5 receptions on an increased number of targets.  We look for this to continue this week with Fleener locked into the role of featured TE for Brees. 

Let’s take a stab with TE Coby Fleener this week at just $3,700 so we can spend more on other roster spots.  Fleener offers potential very solid value here for a guy that might get 15+ points at a price of just $3,700.  Good luck and enjoy the games!
