Camp Randall Stadium is an asphalt-based outdoor stadium on the college campuses of the University of Wisconsin, in Madison, Wisconsin. It was the home of the Wisconsin Badgers football before its inception, in 1895, and later as an operational stadium then until 1917. The current athletic venue was constructed to be a modern facility and to continue to serve its purpose as a venue for football games. However, it has also served as a location for other occasions as well such as weddings, community functions and even as a concert venue. Camp Randall is home to the football team as well as the Big Ten Conference’s Wisconsin Badgers. It also is the site of “College Football Weekend” each October.
Camp Randall Stadium isn’t the only large venue that holds a major college or professional football event in the state of Wisconsin. The Milwaukee Admiration Athletic Center is home to the Wisconsin State Teachers’ Association annual Labor Day Classic. The crowd at the Labor Day Classic can expect to see some familiar faces from the big ten conference such as Bo Ryan and the Detroit Lions. The University of Wisconsin Badgers are the football team that frequently makes it to these events. They have won the last five heart breaking games in this rivalry.
This season, the university has added an entirely new feature to its sports venues. Known as the “Gatorade Zone”, it includes an indoor playing surface, equipped with all the amenities of a full outdoor sports field. This new feature along with several smaller multipurpose courts have made Wisconsin a destination for travelers and tourists interested in Badger football. During these summer weekends, there is no better place in Wisconsin to take in a game than Camp Randall. If you are planning a visit to Camp Randall Stadium during the 2021-11 football season, don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to enjoy the Badgers from the comfort of your hotel room.
If you want to get away and enjoy the beautiful Wisconsin Riverfront for a night, look into Madison’s First Ward Park. Located within walking distance of the baseball stadium, the park features three different pavilion areas for various activities, including volleyball and badminton courts. Madison is the site of several prestigious events, including the popular “Badgers Football Festival.” Other sports festivals hosted by the university include the “Badgers showcase.”
In addition to sporting events, the university also offers a great selection of entertainment venues. The Wisconsin Theatre Center hosts several performances by local and national talent. If your visiting team is scheduled to play a Big Ten Conference game at Camp Randall Stadium, the Theatre Center also offers free admission to the sporting event. The Wisconsin Theatre Center also features a spectacular food and wine garden that allow you to enjoy a full meal and watch the world-class fireworks annually.
When the football season is over, don’t miss the chance to visit Camp Randall Stadium, home of the Wisconsin Badgers. Located in the heart of downtown Madison, Camp Randall is the ideal place to see a game, watch a concert, or just hang out with friends and family. Located off campus at the corner of Wisconsin Avenue, the stadium is only about a mile from the university’s campus. However, it is within walking distance to all of the major sporting venues, including the Big Ten Conference games and the Harley-Davidson Museum.
If you are coming to the Big Ten game early in the season, the university recommends arriving early so you can avoid the rush. Camp Randall Stadium is about a three-mile drive from campus, so make sure to allow plenty of time for car rental. In addition to being the location of the football games, the stadium is also the site of other sporting events during the year. The festival that takes place there every August is one of the most popular in the area. In addition to the large number of festivals and concerts that take place at Camp Randall Stadium, the park also offers nature trails and picnic areas, which means that a trip to the park is not complete without an out to walk around.
While Camp Randall Stadium may be home to football, basketball, baseball, and track & field, the festival that takes place monthly on campus is also the main attraction. This event features local entertainers and renowned speakers, as well as professional artists from throughout the country. You will be able to view exhibits that include art, history, architecture, dance, music, jewelry, puppetry, and theater. For example, you may spot stand-up comedians or musical acts, indigenous art and craft, or food and wine events.
