USC Trojans football has been one of the most lucrative programs in the school’s history. A recent news conference indicated that the NCAA has expanded the possibility of college football moving to southern California. If true, this could mean more revenue for Los Angeles-based Trojans athletic director Ray Anderson and his staff. Even so, it is not likely that any college football teams will move to Los Angeles or Tempe right away. It may be awhile before Trojan Stadium looks like a Los Angeles freeway.
USC Trojans football is one of the more popular sports at the university. Its home field is often referred to as the “Trojan Stadium.” The team plays many home games against other top colleges and universities in the region. Many times, high school and even youth football games are held at this venue.
Beyond the on-campus Trojan Stadium, the Los Angeles area has a wealth of venues for Trojan football games and events. The Trojan Scholarship Fund hosts several events each year. In addition to inviting current students to come to the event, Trojan Scholarships Foundation hosts various charity events in the region. These Trojan scholarship charity events have brought to light many of the issues that face college football programs in Los Angeles and the Southern California area.
Besides having a professional football team, the Trojan Scholars Fund also serves as an education resource center for Trojan fans. Each year, thousands of high school students in the L.A. area are invited to attend a special fundraising event in the spring where they can meet current and future Trojan Scholars. The facility features a restaurant that serves delicious food and beverages. The restaurant offers special menus that feature only the freshest ingredients. Sophisticated decorations, state-of-the-art decorations, and comfortable seating to ensure that guests have a wonderful experience while visiting the restaurant. In addition to serving drinks and cuisine, the restaurant provides Trojan themed decorations, scorecards for the football team, a video tribute to Trojan legends, as well as student discounts and much more.
Outside of hosting a fundraiser, Trojan Scholars Fund also serves to educate the Trojan faithful. This is achieved by hosting a series of workshops in the Los Angeles area. Each workshop takes approximately two hours and includes an appearance by a Trojan celebrity, a discussion of the value of scholarship, and an overview of the ways that Trojan scholars can make their academic dream a reality. This program benefits students who are enrolled in college, but wish to pursue careers in the field of art, sciences, and mathematics. All students, regardless of major or concentration, will be able to fully enjoy these workshops.
Aside from the summer events that feature local celebrities, Trojan Scholars Fund also hosts other important events that are directly related to the Trojan Scholarship. This includes the annual Spring Football Show at the facility, which serves as the venue for a gala that features musical performances by the Trojan Marching Bands as well as appearances by famous college football stars. The Hollywood Bowl is another feature of the USC Trojan Fan Park, where Trojanettes football players compete with other schools and entertainers from the L.A. area. These events are enjoyed by Trojan fans throughout the year.
Trojan Scholarship funds and events are also promoted through a Trojan Football Marketing Plan that is presented annually. This plan highlights several key elements of the Trojan brand that are shown throughout the facility. These include the Trojan name and logo, as well as prominent colors and elements of the Trojan logo. Students who wish to become involved with the marketing plan should visit the facility during a presentation to apply for funding. Upon successful completion of the application process, one will be able to receive financial aid to help cover expenses associated with the events, as well as other academic requirements.
In addition to providing entertainment for the Trojan football team and their fans, USC has also extended a hand of friendship to other local businesses. Several of these businesses host Trojan Festival events, including the Gather & Shine at the Grand Canyon. Numerous businesses have also made donations to support Trojan scholarships and student needs, which have been used to establish academic centers and other facilities on campus. A Trojan Scholarship is often required to attend such facilities, making these events a critical component of Trojan tradition.
