The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City stars: Whitney Houston, Marsha Whitlock, Kim Dickens, and Jillian Michaels. They’re a trio who’ve been the center of attention for a few seasons now. They’re also known as the “Three Housewives”, having represented each of their respective husbands in various ways. And they’ve got more coming up. Today we’re going to take a brief look at their current status, what’s on the horizon for them, and what fans can expect from this up-and-coming reality show.
Season six of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City finally saw the arrival of new additions to the cast. Let’s go over the newly minted members of the ensemble, and one of the oldest favorites, Sharrieff. After finding love with Daniella (Kara Anne Sharpe), Sharrieff decided it was time to make a move, moving to Idaho with her husband. But just when it looked like things were starting to work out, a certain someone convinced Sharrieff that it wasn’t in her best interest to leave Daniella. Daniella ended up leaving in turn, but not before shooting down Sharrieff’s plans to move into the big city.
So where did this whole affair leave the three housewives? In the process of all of this turmoil, Sharpeff and Michaels temporarily divorced. It seems as though their timing was off when it came to getting back together with Michaels, since they weren’t the only two housewives to end their relationship. This led to a brief relation between the three ladies in the midst of all of this, during the final season of the show. In that photo, you can see them all smiling at each other, so it seems as though this recent development was a maid in heaven.
Now, let’s take a look at what has been going on with the other two housewives of Salt Lake City. First, there is Taylor, who has slowly been developing feelings for Daniella. Daniella, on the other hand, seems oblivious to Taylor’s attempts to seduce her new husband, Nicole. On many occasions, Serena has pushed Taylor away, telling her that she doesn’t want to date a black woman. It has become clear that Serena has some problems of her own to deal with, but whether those problems are with Daniella or with Taylor will be seen at the final episode.
Second, in the penultimate episode, Iida finally stands up for herself, acknowledging her love for Daniella and declaring that they should move past their rivalry and work together for the betterment of their family. In doing so, Iida sets an example for other women of color who are struggling with the same issue-gaining respect from those around them. Iida also states that although she loves Daniella, she cannot in the name of family to allow her to lose her new home. In many ways, I’d shows herself to be a real woman, standing up for herself and her own happiness.
Lastly, in episode 12, we take a look at the relationship between Serena and Whitney. It is clear that Serena feels more comfortable spending time with Whitney, but what is the future of the relationship? On many occasions, Serena has attempted to talk to Whitney about her feelings for Serena, but has always been met with resistance. Will episode 13 change that?
During the previous seasons, both Mandy and Sharrieff openly discussed their feelings for each other. In an interesting twist, both women now mention that they have not spoken one to one since their relationship became romantic. This subtle way of telling the audience that it is okay for the housewives to be dating while being married, is a very attractive message. On one hand, it makes sense that the women are trying to distance themselves from the more public scene, which makes sense especially for Mandy who wants to maintain her privacy. On the other hand, it could indicate that there is still an attraction between the two women even after the wedding.
In the final scene of season 13, it is revealed that Mandy and Sharrieff have were having lunch together. Could this mean that the love between the two has not subsided despite their wedding day? Only time will tell. For now, we can conclude that Mandy and Sharrieff are still on good terms, and are best friends. Although the circumstances are different, it is clear that there is still a strong bond between these two housewives in the background scenes.
