Inside Broadway Inside The Band’s Visit

Nice inside look at The Band’s Visit.  the musical won a whopping ten Tony Awards and his heading out on a North American Tour in 2019.  Will it enjoy the tremendous success other recent Tony dominating musicals have on tour?  Time will tell how it does compared to The Book of Mormon, Hamilton, and Dear Evan Hansen.   It definitely adds to the growing list of great works of art on tours cross America and even the world in some cases.

The Band’s Visit is the 10-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical. After a mix-up at the border, an Egyptian Police Band is sent to a remote village in the middle of the Israeli desert. With no bus until morning and no hotel in sight, these unlikely travelers are taken in by the locals. Under the spell of the desert sky, their lives become intertwined in the most unexpected ways. The Band’s Visit celebrates the deeply human ways music, longing and laughter can connect us all.

Suzanna, co-owns and publishes the newspaper Times Square Chronicles or T2C. At one point a working actress, she has performed in numerous productions in film, TV, cabaret and theatre. She has performed at The New Orleans Jazz festival, The United Nations and Carnegie Hall. Currently she has a screenplay in the works, which she developed with her mentor and friend the late Arthur Herzog.
