Fantasy Football Value Gem: On we go to Week 7.  The intent here is to find a low cost but productive option to round out a roster in a DFS contest.  Of course anyone can select the obvious choices if one wishes to pay those high salaries, but unfortunately one can’t fill an entire roster with the top salaries at every position.

Let’s take a look at the New Orleans Saints this week and their trip to Kansas City to play the Kansas City Chiefs. Certainly the New Orleans Saints tend to be a bit more explosive at home when they play indoors, but the forecast for Sunday in Kansas City is absolutely gorgeous.  The Chiefs rank about the middle of the pack in terms of total defense, passing yards surrendered, and total points and first downs allowed.  The New Orleans Saints however are terrible on defense and they know it along with everyone else in the league.  It is entirely possible this is yet another game where the Saints have to play catch up and/or match the points yielded by their terrible defense.

Michael Thomas offers solid value here. The rookie has averaged about 7 targets per game and has scored a touchdown in the last three consecutive games.  Last week he caught all five passes sent his way and it appears as though the rookie is getting into a nice groove with superstar QB Drew Brees.  Let’s play this as if that will continue. 

Let’s take a stab with WR Michael Thomas this week at just $4,700 so we can spend more on other roster spots.  Thomas could certainly bring back 15+ points in this spot.  Good luck and enjoy the games!
