Fantasy Football Value Gem: Week 5

Fantasy Football Value Gem:  Our Value Gem in Week 4 was an excellent performer at a cost of merely $4,300.  WR Terrelle Pryor hauled in five catches for 46 yards and a touchdown.  We thought he would do more against the Skins but we will take it.   Three out of four plays have outperformed their cost so let’s see if we can keep it going.

On we go to Week 5.  The intent here is to find a low cost but productive option to round out a roster in a DFS contest.   Of course anyone can select the obvious choices if one wishes to pay those high salaries, but unfortunately one can’t fill an entire roster with the top salaries at every position.

Let’s take a look at the New York Jets this week and their trip to Pittsburgh to play the high flying and explosive Steelers.  Pittsburgh ranks 30^th in the National Football League in passing yards allowed and they are in the top 5 in rushing yards allowed.  Some of this may be due to the Steelers having big leads in a few of their games and that may be the case again this week hosting the New York Jets.   Either way the stats suggest the Jets can and will throw the ball aggressively versus the Steelers this week even given the struggles of QB Ryan Fitzpatrick.  The Jets may also be without RB Matt Forte and as a team are desperate for a win.  They might sling the ball quite a bit and be playing from behind.

There is also a strong possibility that WR Eric Decker is out again this week for the Jets which essentially guarantees Enunwa will get at least 6 or 7 targets. This kid has shown a ton of progress this season and is motivated to prove himself playing behind Decker and WR Brandon Marshall.  An up tempo game with the Jets playing from behind could lead to a lot of passing attempts with a motivated young player itching to get involved.
