Fantasy Football Value Gem: Week 13

Fantasy Football Value Gem:

We are moving on to Week 13.  Our published Value Gem selection in Week 12 was ok but not great.  We’ve ranged from 10ish points to as high as 25+ points with these very high value but low cost options.

This week we dive into the matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and the Miami Dolphins searching for a true low cost value gem. In the last four games the mundane and ordinary Ravens offense has shifted some of the workload to a different back that also can catch balls effectively.  This RB has seen his carries jump to 9, 6, 6, and 13 over the last four games.  The receptions over these same games were 2, 5, 0, and 4.  It appears as though the team is getting more comfortable with this player at RB.

The Miami Dolphins rank 20th in total defense in the NFL.  The Dolphins rank 30th in the NFL in rushing defense in terms of yards/game allowed.  The Miami Dolphins rank 21st in the NFL in first downs allowed per game on defense.  This is a below average defense and Baltimore is a very mediocre and modest offense.  The Ravens need to control the clock and try and keep Miami off the field.  This could result in them leaning on the running game and conservative throws to include those to RBs out of the backfield.

Let’s take a stab with RB Kenneth Dixon this week at just $3,700 so we can spend more on other roster spots.  Dixon offers potential very solid value here for a guy that might get 15 touches to include 4 or more receptions at a price of just $3,700.  Good luck and enjoy the games!
