Fantasy Football Value Gem:

We are moving on to Week 11.  Our published Value Gem selection in Week 10 was almost a complete dud.  JJ Nelson caught a couple balls early but fumbled twice and was subsequently ignored.  Our team was rocking and rolling though to over 166 points on DK.

The Washington Redskins host the Green Bay Packers Sunday night in an intriguing matchup. After a sluggish start the Skins are on a bit of a roll and in contention.  Skins QB Kirk Cousins has rebounded nicely and is piling up fantasy points.  Green Bay desperately needs a win to keep pace.  So, who could benefit other than the most obvious players in this game?

Jamison Crowder is the #1 slot receiver in the NFL this season for fantasy points in PPR leagues and he is on the market for a very reasonable $5,400. This is above the 4500ish we try to stay under for our Value Gem but we like this matchup here quite a bit. 

Coming off a modest effort against a gritty Vikings D let’s focus on the bigger picture. Crowder is getting tons of targets and is clearly in a nice groove with Cousins.  He has 32 targets in the last four weeks. 

The Green Bay Packers are 16^th in the NFL in passing yards allowed, have given up 19 passing TDs and 32 passing plays of 20+ yards.  In the past three games the slot position has 30 catches and 3 TDs against the Pack.  Let’s look for Cousins to exploit this and hope Pack QB Aaron Rogers keeps his team in a high scoring and exciting game. 

Let’s take a stab with WR Jamison Crowder this week at just $5,400 so we can spend more on other roster spots.  Crowder could certainly bring back 15+ points in this spot and maybe over 20 in this specific matchup.  Good luck and enjoy the games!
