The Chicago Blackhawk’s season is officially underway. They’ve been one of the most impressive teams in all of the National Hockey League, winning their first Stanley Cup title in six years. With an exciting schedule, the Blackhawks are looking to take the National Hockey League by storm. Here’s how to watch tv channel games with NHL games on TV in the Windy City.

Chicago Blackhawk’s Season Opener: The first game of the year for the Blackhawk’s was last weekend, when they took down the highly regarded New York Rangers. The game ended a 1-1 tie, which saw the Blackhawks win in overtime thanks to a Patrice Desrosier goal. Now, Chicago heads into their bye week with a 3-2-1 record, their lone road win coming against the hated rival Toronto Maple Leafs. The Blackhawk’s next game is set to be played against the defending Eastern Conference champion Boston Bruins.

Who watches TV at Cedar Point? The answer, as it so often happens, is that many people do not. However, the Black Hawks are an exciting team, and the crowd at Cedar Point should be able to see why they are amongst the top teams in the Eastern Conference. So, if you want to catch the action live and in person, the best option is to catch the game either on DirecTV or via live streaming feed. You’ll either want to catch the game on DirecTV or through Live Streaming.

Getting to Cedar Point is no easy task, as it’s located on Lake Michigan, and is part of the greater Chicago area. Getting to the front of the crowd can be difficult though, as you have to go through the massive Dick’s Sporting Goods store that fronts on the North Street side of the strip mall. The store is also home to numerous bars and restaurants. Despite the bad reputation the store has gotten over the years, it’s still a great place to catch a Chicago Black Hawks hockey game if you can get in on the action before it starts on Wednesdays. Otherwise, the days leading up to the game are probably the worst times to visit if you don’t have to go out, because traffic is non-existent and the temperatures may be a bit too cold for outdoor play.

After the game, head to the downstairs lounge for the post-game celebrations. This will likely be your only chance to sit down in the lounge during the regular season, but don’t be discouraged. Remember, you’ll be catching all of the Blackhawk’s highlights throughout the season, including some of the team’s legendary wins over the years. If you’re lucky, you might even score an autographed puck. As a matter of fact, a number of former Blackhawk players have become famous because they signed memorabilia and other items from their time with the team.

One of the highlights of the team over the past few decades has been the development of its coaching staff. Chicago’s bench boss over the last two decades has been Michel Theriot, a former player for the Hawkeye organization. He was also previously the head coach of Rouyn Orpik, a team that won the International Hockey League title four straight years from 1991 to 1996. In those years, Shaw and the Hawkeye defensemen won the IIHF World Cup twice, tying with the Canadian Wheat Kings for the most titles ever.

The current bench boss is David Legg, who coached the University of Minnesota for one season (2000-2001). He joined the Blackbirds as an assistant coach in 2005-06, following the firing of Benoit Bendela. Before that, Legg was an assistant for four seasons with the New York Rangers and also spent three seasons as an assistant for the NHL’s Boston Bruins. After leaving the Bruins, he spent two years with the Predators organization. During his time there, he helped them win the Stanley Cup title. Now, he is reunited with Legg in Chicago, where he will serve as the head coach.

The Chicago Black Hawks has already clinched their place in the playoffs, but they haven’t clinched the Central Division yet, nor have they clinched a playoff berth yet. They’ll finish the season strong, though, as the Minnesota Wild is the only team within a stone’s throw of a regulation and overtime win in their division. The Black Hawks will wrap up the season strong as well, as they’ll take the Wild to the playoffs for the first time since the franchise was founded. With Legg behind the bench, they should have no trouble getting this job done.
